George has over 15 years of expertise in ports, shipping, and logistics. Currently a Lecturer in Business Strategy and Operations, he holds advanced degrees in Transport Economics and Management from Shanghai Maritime University, Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Cranfield University, and Ports and Shipping Administration from the Regional Maritime University. George's professional journey includes pivotal roles such as Dean of the Faculty of Maritime Studies and Coordinator of Graduate Studies at the Regional Maritime University, as well as a Research Fellow at Stellenbosch University. His research interests include port development, operations and management, maritime governance and security, maritime policy and supply chain management. 

George is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and a member of the International Association of Maritime Economists. He has contributed to various boards and committees influencing national transport policies and educational strategies. His teaching experience is complemented by a strong focus on curriculum development, and student mentorship.
