Dimitra Saliakelli

Following completion of my undergraduate studies in Athens, Greece, I worked as a General Dental Practitioner in the UK for two years, before undertaking a three-year specialisation course in Paediatric Dentistry. Wishing to acquire a better understanding of working closely with our medical colleagues and the experience of treating severely medically compromised patients, I joined the Paediatric Dental team at Great Ormond Street Hospital in November 2019 where I worked until August 2022 as a specialty dentist. While working at Great Ormond Street Hospital, I submitted my application to the GDC for my inclusion in the Paediatric Dentistry Specialist List. As a recognised specialist, I then had the opportunity to work as a paediatric dental specialist at Kent Community Health Foundation Trust (November 2022 - July 2023), before relocating to Plymouth and starting working in my current post at Peninsula Dental School, from September 2023.
