    2012-present: Member, National Marine Aquarium Ethics Committee.
    2011-2016: Member, Zoos Expert Committee. The Committee provides UK ministers with independent technical advice on zoo policy matters. Its key role is to provide advice and recommendations on measures to encourage the role of zoos in conservation, education and scientific research; and advise on the operation and implementation of the zoo licensing system in the UK.
    2008-2011: Member, Zoos Forum - the independent advisory body which reported to Defra ministers. The Forum advised government on zoo licensing and policy matters. It was replaced in 2011 by the Zoos Expert Committee.
    2005-2012: Member, Whitley Wildlife Conservation Trust Animal Ethics Committee.
