    Overview

    Profile summary

I qualified as a Nurse in 2004 and quickly established a passion for critical care nursing and forged a career in General, Neuro and Cardiothoracic Intensive Care. I specialised in Cardiothoracic ITU and spent the majority of my career practicing as a nurse in this specialty, and18 years caring for patients after heart surgery. I became a Clinical Educator and gained a teaching qualification, which naturally led me to becoming a lecturer in Nursing for the Nursing School within the University of Plymouth. I currently teach trainee Nursing Associates, BSc undergrad Nursing students, and post graduate nurses. I particularly enjoy teaching anatomy and physiology, leadership and management, clinical skills and clinical decision making, as my nursing background lends itself to the application of theories, models' and evidence based practice to the context of clinical nursing practice. I believe that inclusivity and diversity are our strength.
