Overview

Profile summary

My research works at the intersections of philosophy, education and experimental research methodology, with a particular interest in what becomes possible when educational research is not required to begin from established qualitative categories of knowledge, experience or the human.

Working predominantly through postqualitative enquiry, my research explores questions of ontology, ethics, intelligibility, language, policy and knowledge production. Early years education is particularly important to this work, not simply as a context in which philosophical concepts can be applied, but as a site from which philosophy itself can be thought differently. This involves taking seriously forms of existence, learning and thought that exceed conventional assumptions about representation, recognitions and human-centred knowledge.

My current work includes research into educational policy and nonviolence, experimental approaches to research and writing, and the development of metaphysical work concerned with what existence might require us to think when intelligibility is no longer assumed to be its condition.
