    Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor, Chris provides strategic leadership across the 3 schools of the faculty and is responsible for ensuring the faculty delivers excellence across all aspects of education and the student experience, research and innovation. His role includes:

    • Executive leadership of the Schools of Computing, Engineering and Mathematics; Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences; and Biological and Marine Sciences.
    • Membership of key institutional bodies, including Senate; Academic Development and Partnership Committee; IT and Digital Committee; University Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Committee; UEG Risk Review Group
    • University Executive Chair Sustainability Advisory Group
    • University Executive Chair University of Plymouth Technicians Commitment
    • Member of the UKRI Talent Peer Review College
    • Member of the Australian Research Council peer review college
    • Adjunct Professor UNSW Australia

    Chris joined the University of Plymouth in 2024, from Cranfield University where he was Pro-Vice Chancellor for the School of Water, Energy and the Environment. Chris has a background in climate science and Earth Systems modelling. Beyond his specialist field he has helped develop and deliver some of the most innovative low-carbon ‘at scale’ energy demonstration projects in Europe.
