Research Interests
- Christopher Grundy is a lecturer at the Plymouth Institute of Education, University of Plymouth and teaches on the PGCE/PCET (Post-compulsory Education & Training), Master’s in Education and Professional Doctorate in Education programmes. Following his career as Further Education English language lecturer, he joined the HE sector as a teacher educator after attaining his Doctorate in Education in 2019. Chris’s research uses a social constructionist lens combined with a narrative research approach to explore participants’ lived experiences of teaching and learning, and illuminate tensions that emerge between agency and structure in every day practice. His current research project is investigating PGCE/PCET trainees’ lived experiences of teaching in digital spaces and the findings will be used to discuss the implications for both digital pedagogies and professional learning in the PGCE context.
