    Chloë has been a Nurse for 14 years, after completing her degree with the University of Southampton in 2009.

    Chloë joined the Truro team at the University of Plymouth in 2021, after 2 years working at Solent University, most recently as the Programme Lead for Adult Nursing. This role required a keen eye for detail, quality and liaison with external practice partners. While working as a Lecturer in Adult Nursing at Solent University, supporting level 4, 5 & 6 modules and assessment, Chloë's particular interest was in supervision and assessment and supporting her personal students. During her time at Solent, Chloë was awarded Fellowship with the Higher Education Academy, and received the award for "Apprenticeship Team of the Year 2021". She also became a Mental Health First Aider and supported other team members with their training & development.

    Prior to joining the team at Solent, Chloë was the Education Lead for Neurosciences at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust for 5 years where she supported the education and development of over 450 staff across the MDT, including students on clinical placement. This role required collaborative working across the Trust on projects such as developing & implementing training for newly recruited Overseas Nurses to take their NMC OSCE exams, and ensuring quality placements for students by updating & supporting Assessors & Supervisors.

    During this time, she worked part time at the University of Southampton, first as a Clinical Skills Facilitator and later developing and rolling out an e-Assessment portfolio for clinical practice with a colleague. This work was presented at the Nurse Education Today conference (2015), shorty followed by publication of the findings from research into the implementation of the project. Chloë also taught on pre & post registration courses, including "Assessment & Learning in Practice Settings".

    Chloë has worked in many acute clinical areas, specialising in Neurosciences, with a particular interest in neurosurgical care and management of patients. Chloë was the Surgical Site Surveillance of Infection Nurse for post-operative cranial patients and worked closely with the specialist team to support these patients after surgery.

    At the University of Plymouth, Chloë is the Deputy Programme Lead for Undergraduate Programmes, working across 3 sites to support the quality of teaching and assessment. Chloë is the Academic Placement Development Lead for Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, working closely with the clinical and education teams during practice placements.

    Teaching interests

    Chloë currently teaches across the portfolio, both on the Undergraduate and Post Graduate Nursing courses. She is part of the teaching team for NRS410 "Being an Accountable Professional", APP759 "Advancing Knowledge of Learning and Teaching for Practice" and APP768/HEAD302 "Coaching and Leadership".

    Chloë also teaching Clinical Skills & Practice across level 4, 5 & 6.

    She particularly enjoys teaching about learning & teaching theory and student supervision and assessment.

    Previously, Chloë has taught both in a University setting and in clinical practice, for pre & post registration students.
