    Boikhutso is a Lecturer in Adult Nursing. Qualified as a Registered nurse in Botswana in July 1996. He joined Kanye SDA College as an assistant Lecturer in General Nursing in June 1997. He completed a bachelor's degree in Nursing Education (BEd Nursing) in 2001. Upon completion worked for Kanye SDA College teaching Registered Nursing (Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing, Health Assessment) until 2004 then relocated to the UK (United Kingdom). While working at Kanye SDA college he enrolled with the German Quality Association and qualified as a Quality Manager in 2002. Henceforth, conducted internal Quality Audits and trained staff on quality management initiatives for the Ministry of Health as well as the Kanye Seventh-Day Hospital. In the UK he has worked as a General Nurse, Nurse Manager in Nursing Home, Senior Staff Nurse, and Deputy Ward Manager. He has cared for patients undergoing diverse elective surgeries, Spinal, Orthopaedic, general surgeries, urology, Plastics, etc. He completed a Master of Arts in Education (MAEd) in 2013. In 2015, he completed Chemotherapy for Cancer. Boikhutso joined the University of Plymouth in 2014 as a clinical demonstrator and then a full-time lecturer in BSc Nursing in 2018. He completed Pg. Certificate practice (Higher Apprentice awards stage 1 in 2019, PGCAP (Higher Apprentice Award in 2020, and Apprenticeship Academic professional in(teaching) 2020. Boikhutso achieved his Teaching Fellow Status in 2020. He was instrumental in bringing the Hernia operation(charity) UK to Kanye SDA Hospital Botswana in 2017, a humanitarian initiative, the charity is still active in Botswana. The team conducts hernia operations on disadvantaged children and adults who otherwise will live the rest of their lives with hernias. He is also the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion lead for the School of Nursing and Midwifery (SNAM)at University of Plymouth. Lastly, Boi is working in collaboration with the  Plymouth Hope Charity in promoting awareness about COVID-19 vaccination and boost participation within the specific groups and vulnerable communities, who have shown lower COVID-19 vaccination rates.

I collaborate with colleagues at university and practice to embrace our diverse staff and student's population.We aim to promote an open dialogue on issues related to equality, inclusion and diversity without the fear of victimisation or intimidation.

    Additional information

    I am a volunteer for the Hernia Operation UK, the charity perform hernia Operation on disadvantaged school children and Young Adults at Kanye Seventh- Day Hospital in Botswana. The Charity signed a 5 year Memorandum of agreement with a Local Hospital in Botswana to train local doctors on hernia operation and continue with operations . I am a huge believer in giving back and helping out in the community and the world ."The measure of a person's life is the effect they have on others" Martin Luther King.
