    Overview

    Profile summary

I support teaching and learning in the School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics (SECaM) by managing the new active learning facility STEAM Laboratories.
The STEAM Laboratories opened for academic year 2023-2024 in the newly renovated Babbage Building. The facility brings experimental testing resources into one place that enableling large groups of students to use inquiry-based activities to learn the fundamental principles of engineering science and technology through experimentation, observation, and analysis.
I am passionate about creating an inclusive learning environment and minimising barriers for learning. As the developer and main administrator of Smarthub for SECaM, I will be managing online lab training and access for students.
In my six years at the University I have worked as Senior Technician, managing the Faculty of Science and Engineering LABplus Resource Centre, supporting STEM teaching and learning e.g. by developing online resources for undergraduate students during lock down and blended learning in 2021, and I manged lab access and equipment loans for students, in the open plan Robotics and Electronics lab facility. Here I also ran the School’s estore page, and completed purchases from external suppliers for project student, laboratories and academic and research staff.
