Anastasios is currently undertaking a doctoral research degree (PhD) on community engaged dental education and social accountability. His research aims to explore the impact of community engaged dental education on undergraduate student’s empathy, their views towards social accountability, and their attitudes towards interprofessional learning. The findings of this research will be used to inform current educational practices. By producing a socially accountable workforce, it is anticipated that the needs of the most vulnerable populations in the society can be appropriately met, which will enable bridging the oral health equity gap.
