Overview

Profile summary

I am an Associate Professor in Psychology, and lead the MSc/MPsych Clinical Psychology Programmes.

My research aims to understand the psychosocial processes which underlie mental and physical health outcomes in women and, ideally, to use my research findings to influence public health policy and practice.

I employ both quantitative surveys and qualitative methods, and am particularly interested in the role of trauma, gendered health pathways, and psychobehavioural factors such as self-silencing, hypervigilance, stress and coping. Allied with this, I also research relational trauma and attachment processes and how these influence women's lives and health across the lifespan.
