"Shaping Responsible Futures for Organisations and Society"

Lead: Dr Jasmine Kelland and Dr Hanne Knight

The Responsible Organisational Management (ROM) cluster is an interdisciplinary research group based within Plymouth Business School, committed to advancing responsible, ethical, and sustainable practices within contemporary organisations. Our overarching mission is to generate impactful knowledge that supports organisations in navigating complex, dynamic environments while upholding the principles of inclusivity, accountability, and stakeholder stewardship.

The cluster’s work is organised around three key thematic areas, each addressing a vital dimension of responsible organisational management:

People, Organisation, and Work (POW)
The POW theme focuses on shaping inclusive, progressive workplaces through innovative human resource management (HRM) practices.

Project Management (PM)
The PM theme addresses the urgent need for responsible leadership and effective digital management strategies through exploration of how organisations can successfully manage multifaceted projects by integrating technology, sustainability principles, and ethical leadership practices.

Marketing and Decision-Making (MDM)
The MDM theme investigates how marketing strategies shape stakeholders’ decision-making processes in ways that promote—or hinder—responsible choices.
