Multidecadal Gravel Beach dynamics in the UK and Ireland - SDS data

This dataset accompanies the article by Konstantinou et al. (2024) titled ‘Multi-decadal gravel beach dynamics in the UK and Ireland: insights from satellite-derived shorelines’. This study investigates the morphodynamics of 45 grave systems in the UK and Ireland over the period 1984 - 2023. SDS were extracted using CoastSat v2.3 and tidal data were extracted using TPXO9-atlas-v5 tidal model (Egbert & Erofeeva, 2002) and generated using TMD3 (Greene et al., 2024). for each site, the data includes information on the definition of the site (ROI), the transects used for the extraction of the SDS, satellite image information (e.g., date, geolocation accuracy), MNDWI image threshold, tidal elevation, MSL/MHW/MLW information.
