Trans masculine community experience and needs

Activity: Contribution to research, leadership and development, and other activitiesBuilding a research partnership or collaboration

Description

A three-year mixed-methods project exploring:
1. Victimisation patterns across the life course among AFAB transmasculine communities
2. Mental health experiences, help-seeking behaviours, and barriers to effective support
3. Recognition and misrecognition in healthcare, criminal justice, and community settings
4. Intervention needs and community-informed support frameworks
The research integrates criminological perspectives on social harm with clinical psychological expertise in minority stress, trauma, and therapeutic interventions. We will employ participatory methodologies including national surveys, life course interviews, facilitated creative expression of lived experience, and walking interviews to capture both harm and resilience.
