Social Enterprise in the Modern Day – Plymouth Business Conference Series

Activity: Contribution to engagementPublic and community engagement

Description

As a part of Plymouth Business Conference Series (PBCS) organised by University of Plymouth, Devon Chamber of Business, and Plymouth Chamber of Business, I demonstrated national recognition as an expert in digital transformation and marketing by facilitating and chairing a session on “Building a Digital Brand” in the Social Enterprise in the Modern-Day track in July 2021. The keynote speaker in the session I chaired was Jimmy Leach, who is a seasoned communications and digital specialist with extensive experience across government, media, and commerce. He led digital communications for two UK Prime Ministers and Foreign Secretaries, devised digital strategies for governments and foreign ministries in Serbia, Kosovo, Albania, Nigeria, Finland, Australia and the UAE, and contributed to the creation of the first iteration of the current gov.uk platform and Government Digital Service. In media, he served as an executive editor at The Guardian, digital director at The Independent, and editor-in-chief at HuffPost UK, with writing credits in The Times, The Telegraph, The Sun, and more. My engagement in the PBCS based on my expertise in digital transformation and marketing contributes to maintaining University of Plymouth’s status as the first university in the world to be awarded the Social Enterprise Mark. Contributing to the maintenance of the city of Plymouth as one of the first ‘Social Enterprise
Cities’ and a social enterprise ‘hot spot’ through Plymouth Social Enterprise Network (PSEN).
