Doing Doctorates Differently

Calling all prospective and current doctoral students, recent doctoral graduates and supervisors! You are warmly invited to join us at this year’s in person Adventures in Posthumanism doctoral event.
With Moten and Harney, we would like to consider ‘study’ as a collective, social, and often informal practice of thinking and working together. As a 'fugitive' activity, 'study' can occur within or alongside the university, whilst at the same time resisting neurotypical approaches and confinement within its neoliberal demands. We see 'study' as being something ‘more than’ - what Manning might describe as involving 'parapedagogies of resistance'.  
Asking ‘what if’ and ‘what else’, this is a day to make connections, develop relationships and create networks within a community of writers, scholars and researchers who all want to explore how we might do doctorates differently. Participants are asked to bring and share their experiences of doctoral study and supervisory practices and to consider what it might mean to research your way
