Developing Patient and Public Engagement (PPE) locally and nationally

Description

Ongoing activity involving the development and maintenance of patient and public engagement in:

1. medical education teaching and learning at Peninsula Medical School

2. the development of our BeSST national guidelines for best practice in Sociology
teaching in medical education.

My local network of public and patient partners includes / has included:

1. local individuals living with a wide range of health and wellness experiences as
well as chronic illnesses and disabilities

2. individuals with a range of social backgrounds, including homeless, LGBTQI+,
with different faiths, with different ethnic backgrounds, asylum seekers,
addiction

3. local and national representatives of patient groups: including the Patients
Association, PALS, Age UK, the Alzheimer's Society, the Alzheimer's Society,
the Harbour Centre, Shekinah Mission.
